I love my new Sony Vaio vx89. I have had so many computer woes this last year, Went from a Dell Inspiron to a Powerbook (hated mac by the way) and now then to another dell (which was so big and fat it hurt my legs). Tonight I found an open box sony vaio for 909 dollars. It is just awesome! Light weight, everything is great EXCEPT THIS loud clickty clack hard drive. WTH? Is every notebook like this? I really want this because of how slim it is, but I don't know if I can take the loud sound of the drive? Thanks for your help!

Some drives are louder than others - find out who made it (Hitachi, Toshiba or Fujitsu) and use the manufacturer utility to test it -- if it checks out, you can try asking for a replacement;  if not, they should easily replace it under warranty.
