Title: New Computer
Post by: Igloo on November 24, 2005, 05:02 hrs
I am taking on alot more movie editing, so my old rig just did not cut the mustard anymore.

I ordered this this afternooon.

Quite expensive but i am fed up of waiting 4+ hours for my 3200xp to auth my movies

Update :-

Its arrived and i have now built it.

Everything is so fast and loading windows from cold boot takes ~30 seconds.

The graphics are simply awesome.

Will post some screen shots of Need for Speed most wanted in a little while :)

I have decided to try my best to hold off on any more baubles until I can afford an AMD dual core unit with screwless case and acrylic side pane, a hulking power unit,  and a front-bay mounted Thermaltake full digital functions readout.   8)

If that were mine, I would need to add more support under my den floor.  I definitely would not classify that unit as bashful, intimidating, yes, bad--->very!   8)

Thank you both :)

I have 2 more cc's to go into the case and am awaiting a lighting controller for the other set of 12" cathodes for the inside (there bright green :) )

Will take more pics later tonight, maybe show you the drive arrangement and where the two raptors will sit.

Wow, that is one seriously good looking setup!  Congratulations on that build.  I love your use of neons, the effect at the front is spectacular.  I've long thought the inclusions of neons is great but seeing them somewhere other than just inside is great.  Once you get the ones on the inside done I'm thinking you might want to go buy some nice new sunglasses!  ;D

I have them done, and the purple ones it came with arnt too bright  >:(

Well they were free, so im replacing them with 2x 16" cc tubes bright blue :)

Should be nice and glowy inside :)

Will take more pics once i've installed the new raptor and tidied up :p

You need to update your signature. I am thinking about an AMD 4400 dual core system. Not sure yet.

I am thinking about making our XP 2500 system a linux system running IPCOP, making my AMD64 3500+ system our main system and then going dual core for my photoshop digital imaging system.

Nice Bling computer  :) . ON a personal note i have downgraded substantially to a lowly A64 3200+ @ 2.5 Ghz with an X800XL (it was my third PC). I sold out everything i had (for a profit of course). I'll upgrade again when AM2-3 and Conroe/DX 10 compliant cards are out.
