I have an Acer computer and Everything was working fine  until I installed a USB port into the Back of it now the modem doesn't work...   anyone have any Idea's????????

Had a suggestion that might be a Bios problem????

This sounds like a resource conflict since it started after you installed the USB. This can be checked in the device manager but I need to what OS?

I have windows 98 SE ....    I think your probably right...

If you go to you device manager, through the properties of MyComputer, and go to the modem and the usb that you just installed. In the properties of the two devices you have a resources tab and this should tell you if there is a conflict.

Bunky

is there something special I should look for?????

FDDIMan

When at the resource tab there is a box that should either say "no conflicts" or a conflict.
