How do you kno what kind of ram you have?!
Im going to add some more

use memory that is compatible with your motherboard. The motherboard manual indicates what can be used. If you don't have the manual, what motherboard is it?

you can always open up your system, pull out ur ram and check out the sticker on it.

if ur lucky it should tell you the name of the company, the size, and the type...

and if there are no stickers, all i know is check the notches on the golden side of the ram, SDRAM has 2 notches (one near the middle and one off to the side) while DDR SDRAM has 1 notch (one near the middle.
