Remove Down Arrow From Standard Button Bar?

So I downloaded and installed Explorer 6.0, replacing Explorer 5.5, but I can't really see any advantages to it.  In fact, there are some nuisances.  For instance, I don't like the history to appear on the standard button bar.  I know you can right-click on the bar and keep the history icon from showing, but there is a down-arrow I can't remove that when clicked shows all the history is sites visited inside a history folder.  I can't see any way you can eliminate the arrow from the standard bar.  Anybody know if it's possible to remove this thing?  Thanks.
