I was wondering if it is possible to get a card which will increase the amount of memory the graphics card will have. ???

If you mean increase the RAM on your video card, with most cards made in the last few years, the answer is no - the memory cannot be upgraded.

On some systems with integrated video (on the mainboard) you can sometimes allocate more system RAM for video purposes, but the max is usually 4 or 8 MBytes (there are some new ones that cap at 32 MBytes) - some can be re-allocated, some cannot.

If you have an add-in pci or agp video card, you still have the option of replacing it with a more powerful model with more memory.  As Query said, though, you probably can't upgrade the memory on your existing card.

A lot of laptops have graphics chips which are capable of having local video memory added (such as SiS 630/730) but very few manufacturers include the socket to support the feature.

Modern SiS and S3 controllers support large memory sizes.
