What Does "Associating Files With Nero" Really Mean ?

While installing Nero, this message appears: "Please open the file types below a Nero application will be used"

What is the difference between checking or unchecking all those boxes that represent file associations with Nero?

It means that if the boxes are ticked, a Nero application will be the default application for opening those file types.  For example, if you associate .mpg files with Nero, then when you double-click a .mpg file, it will be opened with Nero Showtime, instead of the usual default - Windows Media Player.

Is that what you were asking?

Yes Buff I believe so. Since I chose not to install Nero Showtime, I guess that means that it doesn't matter anyway. Thanks.
