Hi ddd,

I don't have any recommendations on how to fix your laptop.  However, if you purchased it with a credit card, your cc co may be able to help you with a repair.

When I turn on my Quantex laptop, it goes for a few seconds then turns itself off and back on again, then repeats. I can only stop the cycle by removing all power (ac and battery).

Before Quantex technical support disappeared completely, they recommended resetting the BIOS. I was able to do this once when I was able to get into the BIOS setup by first chilling the whole machine in a refrigerator (kept it going long enough to just about boot up). Now I can't get that far, no matter what I do. I don't believe I have a fan failure yet. At least the fan itself sounds normal when it's running and its ducts are clean. I wouldn't swear that it is turning on and off appropriately, though.

Any suggestions?
