I am going to be mobile for some period of time in the near future and am  getting ready to mothball the desktop and switch to an old Dell Latitude CPIr with win 98SE.
The notebook has a modem card which I will need but I also will need a wireless card for those hotels with WiFi.
Price is always a consideration.

What card might serve the purpose?  Will I have to remove the modem?  Can they cohabitat?  What about a cable connection if necessary?

I have no experience with wireless but have a need.

And, any recommendations about a source for a new battery?

TIA,

Bill

for the wireless card i would go for the belkin range, i have one and it works fine with the modem card still installed in my lappie and is very fast. id go for the slightly more expensive 802.11g as opposed t the slower 802.11b, which i have, though. (i didnt see the point of buying a g card whith a b router!) but the hotels should have a g service.

as for a battery source when my old batttery died i went to ebay, it took a while but i got one. if not try specialist laptop computer shops and your manufacturers website.

hope this helps

I?ve bought laptop batteries from http://www.laptopsforless.com/ the service was good as well as the prices.

Although I can?t recommend any particular card, I would think you would want a G with backwards compatibility with B. Who knows what you will run into on the road.
