I have seen no advantage that is detectable for the AMD 64X2 4200 over the AMD XP2800+ other than the temperature difference, which is significant though.  The normal use temperature for the 64 is always less than 100Ã?ºF (24Ã?ºC)  and usually about 93Ã?ºF (20Ã?ºC).  The 2800 runs about 108Ã?ºF (28Ã?ºC).  I still am amazed that the temperature is so low.  That would make any heat aging virtually nil, since there would be no thermal-generated electro-migration of the metal leads.  Is this temperature abnormally low?  I must admit that I do no dynamic gaming on the 64X2 unit, but the other is even more docile.  My wife uses the AMD 2800 32bit almost exclusively for Internet searches and board games.
