Microsoft has a download quickie program of the above name that is supposed to check for rootkits by comparing known accepted values in the registry with possible bogus entries that may be spyware replacements.  The technical aspects are more than my brain can digest this late in the night, but the program detected no anomalies on my computer except in the temporary Internet files, which are easily deleted.
