Hey,

Ok, this seems to be a wierd one for me but every so often when doing very minimal things on my computer I suddenly lose the internet and I use to have to reboot to get it back. It happened a couple of more times and I ran your usuals to see if there was a problem but nada. I decided to go into network connections and disable it then enable it which gave me the internet back. Any Ideas what might be causing this, doesn't seem hardware too me just  cause I can get the internet back by disabling and enabling my network connection.

Doing a repair on your network will also likely fix the problem. As far as a long term fix, routers can often cause this. If you can, update the firmware on your router.

Cars gave you some good advice. I've had this problem on occassion, I usually resolve it by:

1. Clear the Internet temp cache on all computers, then shut them down.

2. Reset the cable modem. Completed disconnect it, and shut it down. After a minute, hook everything back up and power it up.

3. Reset the router. Disconnect the power from the unit, wait a minute, then plug it back up.

4. Restart all your computers, one at a time.

And unless you are on dialup, disengage the storing of temporary Internet files after you clean them out.

I've actually attempted the repair with no luck before. I did happen to clear on the temp files out today which hopefully helps. Only one pc seems affected by this as well. The 2 laptops on the router run fine though they are turned off time to time. The main pc which I never shutoff is the one causing the problems. Stopping of temp files is in the  browser setting right? I'll look around for it. Thx guys I'll give your ideas a try.
