QuoteSorry Joe, we do not condone or support illegal file sharing here.
by Pat

Just because its off of Kazza doesn't mean its illegal.  I think you should unlock that thread. Aren't you being a bit presumptuous?

The problem is that most people do not go to KaZaa for sharing kitchen recipes for Christmas fruitcake.  KaZaa also employs snoop programs that we are continually trying to help computer users remove from their systems.  This forum has simply decided to stay away from sites that we cannot endorse.  This is not intended to be a hostile accusation, simply a matter of desire to refrain from the controversial.  Threads of this forum can be found on the open Internet and we value the integrity of the forum and trust that we try to maintain for families.

alrighty -- just wanted to say that not everything is illegal.

I use KazzaLite & BitTorrent daily; I suppose I'm biased.

A film downloaded from Kazza is more than likely not legal. If someone wanted to legally obtain a film, they can buy a DVD for less than $20 or a VHS tape for less than $12.

Perfectly legal ;D

But yeah yeah, I know where you're coming from.. End of discussion.

The day all CDs are $10 is the day I'll start buying them.  As long as its not hurting the artist its peachy with me.

Wade,
While we?re not the morality police, it is within our right to maintain the content of our forum as we see fit. It is also within the right of those who do not agree with our policies to poast elsewhere.
Presumptuous? Perhaps, I think the same can be said for file sharing not hurting the artists. Neon did a fine job of explaining our policies in that other poast. I?ll just add that if you think having three edited poasts in one day is cool, keep in mind there does come a time when we no longer edit the poast, we edit the member.
Thanks,
pat

Personally I'm becoming a little tired of people telling us what we should and should not do.  I'm all with constructive criticism but recently there have been members who actively promote illegal activities, and then complain when their poasts are edited or removed.

Everyone who joins Poasters has to agree with our terms and conditions, and if people cannot agree with this then they can go elsewhere.

We're not stupid, as certain people appear to believe, neither are the RIAA.  I don't doubt for one minute that the overwealming majority of file sharing activity on Kazaa et al is for illegal/copyrighted/pornographic material.

I've got nothing against you Wade, but I suggest that you stick more closely to our rules.  There's nothing big or clever about having your poasts edited.

I'm just a peon in the great scheme of things- But I have to agree. Certainly, it's a lot easier (read: Cheaper) to get software/music/etc off the internet, but as time progresses and I dive deeper and deeper into being far, far more than a basic End User, I can't help but think those people who get illegitimate copies of software deserve the problems they get. as programmers are people too, and probably have families to feed and whatnot, I don't see a real need to complain about shelling out $700 for Adobe AfterEffects 6, or whatnot. Do yourself a favor and always stay above reproach, man. The easy way isn't always the right way, and the right way is never easy.

I'm not promoting illegal activities...
And I dont make posts just so they get edited...
The fact is that you could have helped the person regardless of what they "could" be working with.
I dont find it big or clever getting posts edited, i just find it funny that it happens three times in one day.
Idk.. cancel my account or whatever you wish to do
