Have you heard of Regina Spektor? It's somewhat hard to watch this video without falling in love with her:

Here's another great one:

I've heard of Regina Spektor.  When you poasted this, that's when I heard of her.

After an hour or so, I've been able to watch most of those two.  She is pretty kicky and kute.  I hope that's not the girl Phil Spector shot.  She has a funny hairdo like outta the 40's, and a sorta big nose, but she's pretty hot.  She repeats stuff quite a bit, like harharharharharhar and lihihihihihihihihivn in a den of thieves...  But she's aight.  Sorta like Kate Bush doing Bjork and sounding like Gwen Stefani.

Well, ok, not really, but that was quite the image wasn't it.  I really did like Fine Young Cannibals, though.  They were fine.  And young, back then.

ace; I'm glad I'm not a cannibal, since I couldn't eat pork if I was.

I have an image of Barbara Bush doing Victor Borge and looking like Victor Borge. But with no talent.

Lookie here, it shouldn't be taking you an hour or several days to download these videos. I'll try to help out by poasting video links for people (Ace) who have super-slow connections. The video will be choppy with poor quality sound, and it will be the size of a 41 cent poastage stamp, but at least you'll be able to download it in something less than an hour.

I think FYC should have a video where they're cooking someone in a big pot. It would add new meaning to the lyrics "We're caught in a trap... I can't walk out..."

Scuzzy; I'm more like a cannonball. A loose one.

You know, I was reading in an (old) Absolute Sound magazine that Regina Spektor opened for The Strokes.  That's pretty cool, since I like them.

Not to change the subject from Ukeleles, although I gotta tell ya I've reached the statue of limitations on those...  But I bought "The Reminder" by Feist, who's Leslie Feist and others whom I think are Canadian although the CD was recorded in France (I think part of Canada is in France) and it's way cool.  She does the "My Moon My Man" chocolate phone commercial piece (Verizon?) which prompted me to search her out and buy the thing.  That song reminds of "Crazy" a bit, the way it's constructed and recorded.  Catchy the same way too.  Nice range of tunes, including some soft acoustic things.  Good voice, nice range and tonality.  She's hot.

In the same Amazon shipment I got "8:30" which was a live Weather Report album, just because I wanted something of Jaco Pastorius who was quite the bass beast when he was alive, but not now I guess.  I'm not really into jazz much past Steely Dan or Diana Krall, but it's good stuff.  I guess I don't much like atonal free form squaking jazz, and I cringe with "soft jazz" as it sounds like Kenny G in an elevator...  But the medium clever catchy type I like. The third one was Pentangle, whom I used to listen to in College and are British and Celtic and folky but sorta jazzy too, and I got a nice live and studio compilation thingy to have a lot of them.  Funny thing is IT has a great acoustic bass solo called "The Haitian Fight Song" which is lowdown.

Ace; Feist is feisty.
